Alex and Tina, the bloggers and creative minds behind the Munich food blog 'habe ich selbstgemacht'. Here you will find hundreds of delicious yet mostly simple recipes from bread to desserts and cakes to lovely sweet and savoury gift ideas from the kitchen. Our recipes are sometimes classic, occasionally unusual, often a little healthier, but always tried and tested and delicious. We love trying out new delicacies for you and our greatest motivation is the positive feedback from our readers.

It all started in 2013 as a hobby. Back then, baking mixes in jars were the big trend! We soon realised that (food) blogging was incredibly fun for us. I am not a professional pastry chef, but a "Vegan Pasticciona" who lovingly enjoys creating simple and tasty vegan sweets with easy-to-find ingredients I've always loved sweets since I was a child. In 2010, I combined this passion with my choice to become vegan. Choice made out of ethics, out of love for animals, for myself, never seen as a renunciation, but always naturally. I got to work and started experimenting, discovering new flavours, ingredients and alchemy.

I remember starting by preparing a simple sponge cake and from that moment on I never stopped! I prepare desserts practically every day, trying to perfect the ingredients, the appearance, and creating my recipes.

I'm Antonieta, aka the vegan cat mom. I was born and raised in Chile and came to Germany as an Au pair girl many years ago. I call Berlin my home, the coolest city on earth. I'm a proud mother to a grown-up daughter and three cats. I've always been a passionate hobby baker and cook, but since I went vegan I've learned even more and become really creative in the kitchen. I was born in Terni in 1988, in 2013 I decided to turn my life upside down by becoming a vegan with my husband and our two children.

We began a wonderful journey of well-being and, by popular demand, I found myself preparing vegan dishes for friends and relatives. In 2018 I created my first home take away "Arianna Vegan Creations" to offer traditional Italian dishes revisited in a vegan key through an App. In the same year, following the great success obtained, overwhelmed by the love for people and for my kitchen, I decided to create the Facebook page " Arianna's Vegan Creations ", with the aim of making the public aware of the simplicity and taste of vegetable recipes.

In 2019 my first vegan recipe book was "Tasty, beautiful and vegan! " Comes out on Amazon and in 2020 I created my first online course in nutrition and vegan cuisine " Arianna Vegan Academy ". In the same year, I became a Teacher Chef at the VEGANOK Academy of VEGANOK, the largest certifying body of vegan products and companies in Italy.

In March 2021 my first Vegan TV program " Vegan Curious ", of eight episodes, made with the GBC TV of Gibraltar, where I held the role of co-host and vegan Chef, is broadcast.

For many years, my eating habits consisted of frozen burritos, cafeteria food, and finishing off all the leftover donuts at work. Spending the time and energy to eat well felt daunting and out of reach. In my work as a physician, I was regularly counselling patients to improve their eating habits. I was not practicing my own advice.

In 2020, when we were all quarantining during the early phases of the pandemic, I decided to go on an experimental diet. A plant based, whole food diet. I thought I'd last a week, maybe a month. I quickly realized that eating more fruits and vegetables had a noticeable impact on how I my body felt. I haven't looked back since. How we eat is deeply personal and connected to our social lives and changing these habits is hard.

My goal is to show the world that adding a few more plants into life can be easy, affordable, and enjoyable.

"I've had this blender for 2 months. My comparison is to the Ninja (3 blade) blender. I also grew up around VitaMix Blenders as well. So far this blender has worked great!

The main take away for me is how smooth my smoothies are, seriously. With Ninja, I always had seeds of un-blended fruit that I had to chew or just swallow. With the Optimum, the texture is very delightful! Hardly any seed texture at all. It pulverizes everything.

I have also made hummus and tahini and salsas. I've blended cooked sweet potatoes and cashews to make a yummy pasta topping. I haven't tried making dough or blending my own wheat. Maybe will need to post another update at that time. So far it has handled everything I have given it.

The interface does take a little getting used to. It is much more automated than any other blender I've used before. I have grown to really like the timer feature. The automated smoothie setting is my most used feature (the blender essentially fluctuates speeds for 10-20 seconds to make sure everything gets chopped up, then goes to high for like 30-40 seconds). It does an incredible job!

Overall this is a comparable product to a VitaMix type blender and it supersedes the Ninja blender by a lot. It just functions at a much higher caliber!"

Both moms with jobs and busy life. A few years ago we changed our lifestyles to a more healthy one. We both wanted to lose some weight, but most of all feel better and have more energy. I am Eglantine or @Veganica_Paris, an adopted Parisian always looking for new adventures and vegetable flavors. I work in marketing for a large customer relations group, but cooking has always been a real passion and a moment of relaxation. I was already making yogurt cakes and pancakes with my grandmother when I was 3 years old! I created Veganica_Paris, my Instagram page 2 years ago, pushed by my relatives who wanted to find my recipes easily to redo them at home and it was a click, I loved preparing good little dishes and putting them in a scene to make them appetizing from the start.

I am Ellie Marks from Melbourne and I run a blog called Simply Mumma.

I understand the challenges busy women face in this day and age so I decided to create Simply Mumma to share my experience and household hacks that may be helpful to my readers.

Quality family time is very important to me, as well as feeding them nutrition filled food and just making them feel comfy at home.

I was a typical 9-5 office worker until recent years. I started working from home after I got married so I got a bit more time for myself. Making cold press juice and frozen treats is extremely easy too - just swap out the pasta parts with the juicer parts. I can definitely say that I could prepare a healthy, yummy meal from appetiser to dessert for my family using the Optimum Mamma Mia.

Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this machine as it made my life so much more efficient. I have been using the Mamma Mia for over 6 months and I still enjoy using it.

Cleaning is not challenging either even though there are many parts (not many if only use 1 type). If you use the pasta maker, meat grinder, slicer and juicer all in one preparation then there may be quite a few to wash. Just give them a good rinse and remove any leftover pulp or particles stuck in the openings before chucking them into the dishwasher.

I would recommend it to anyone who wants to save countertop space, looking for a machine that does everything or someone who is busy with life but still wants to make homecooked meals just like myself."

After several years of diets that didn’t work I’ve started to just eat healthier, I explored different books and this helped me to discover new things and flavours. So now I try to make everything I love in a healthy way and you know what I love it!

I can take breakfast with cake, waffles, and pancakes! But on top I have built an Instagram community and met a lot of new people. This was the best thing that could happen to me on a mentally, physically and social way.

I grew up in a small town in NSW, Australia eating a standard Australian diet where meat was the focus of every meal. This way of eating carried on as I went through university and into my early twenties.

I’m Kerstin, better known as Mama Rainbow. I was born in Austria, I’m a mama of three healthy children, vegan since birth and we live on our property in the countryside in South Italy. There was a time, when I struggled to come up with ideas of what to cook for dinner. A reliable go to easy meal was a baked chook,  salad and some potatoes....

Rewind three years ago,...
 I saw that our local Provisions Store  Organic Feast , were hosting a cooking demonstration.  

The event was run by Whole Food Plant Based Chef Adam Guthrie who was going to do a cooking demonstration and talk about healthy eating.  A dinner meal was part of the evening.   Nothing to lose I thought, dinner out, and I might learn something.  
I contacted girlfriends to see who might be interested, it ended up that four of us went, this included my good  friend, Belle.

I had no preconceived thoughts on the evening, but by half way through, the penny dropped for me. This is what I need! Here is the inspiration  I didn't even know I was looking for! The research on plant based food presented by Adam and his health journey and passion for a  plant based lifestyle opened my eyes! The cooking demonstration was a   Burrito Bowl. The meal was delicious, no meat, and not missed!! 

All four of us, signed up for Adam's I Feel Good Wholefood Plant Based Program. 

 Lots of easy nutritious recipes and a daily planner helped to make my transition to being a plant eater. One of the things I learned, was prepping like a chef which meant,  making large batches of recipes and staple ingredients. This ensured meals could easily be pulled together with variety. 

My only kitchen appliance was a Nutri Bullet. I loved that little guy, it made me nice smoothies, but it didn't like making me large batches of cashew creme, or blending thick ingredients as needed for Bliss Balls,  I didn't even try , as that was expolsive as Belle found out when she tried it in her Bullet.  Cacao and dates all over the kitchen! Thanks Belle for saving me from that mishap  Belle and I  chatted about how we needed something more powerful and larger to prep our batch food. 

Deciding it was time to invest in a heavy-duty kitchen aid, I followed Adam's suggestion of a blender by Froothie.   After checking out their website, I discovered a variety of blenders and was drawn to the  Froothie Evolve Blender, which had two jugs. One for cold blending, and the other for cooking! I  didn't know such a thing existed. It was a big investment for me, but thought it would pay for itself over time.  I was committed to a new healthy lifestyle and loved the idea of cooking up my plant-based soups in the Jug, and all the sauces, dressings, and healthy treats I had recipes for,.... I needed an appliance that could stand up to regular heavy duty use!  Belle also decided on investing in Evolve too. 

I was brave and posted a few of my cooking adventures with my Evolve on social media, and these were amateur! Both in cooking and photography.  Froothie suggested I could post some short videos .... hmm,  well I couldn't work out how to make videos and cook at the same time!  However, Belle, was a Media Teacher and  Videographer, so I asked her when she had time, if she could video  me using the Blender,

After many years of working in the fashion industry, in 2013 I chose to start following a vegan diet for ethical, health and ecological reasons. One of my passions has always been cooking: my grandmother used to cook (a lot) and my mom used to cook; there were always people in our house, tables set and chatting until late. My name is Lisa, I am Originally from Italy. I’ve been travelling the world for the past 9 years. I came across Froothie in 2013 when I transitioned into a healthy lifestyle. I was living in hot Gold Coast Australia at that time and all my body was craving was smoothies.

I’m the creator behind Cook Vegetarian. I live in Adelaide, South Australia but was born in Moscow, Russia. I grew up in central Moscow, and studied Finance and worked in a big Russian bank for 8 years.

I became vegetarian in 2012. Since I was a teenager I noticed that meat was harder to digest and my body felt completely different after having fruit or vegetables. So I slowly started to cut down on animal products and include more plant-based foods into my diet. My full transition took me two years. When I moved to Australia in 2015, I began to take pictures and share what I eat as a vegetarian on my Instagram page, showcasing my passion for cooking, food and photography.

My goal was to help and to show others how a vegetarian diet can be healthy and delicious at the same time, without sacrificing taste or hurting animals.

After 3 pregnancies (in 4 1/2 years) with a weight gain of + 25kg a balanced diet and almost no sport... I decided to ACT, I enrolled in BTS dietetics, I undertook a food rebalancing, I resumed my activity as a sports coach (graduate). I discovered smoothies shortly after having my son almost 7 years ago, as I was looking for something quick and easy that was nutrient packed to help me stay energised whilst juggling lack of sleep and newborn days! I loved how easy it was to throw together so many incredible ingredients that made a delicious drink that I could consume on the go.

I'm Manon van Kuijk, somewhere in my thirties and a bit of a health freak for a few years now.

I'll explain where it comes from. I grew up with an always cooking father and mother so my passion for cooking did not come from a stranger but it developed with me a little later. Initially I wanted to lose some weight and then I started with Sonja Bakker, which I didn't last long.

Then the Dukan diet came, and I was successful with that. And that's where creativity started in the kitchen. I became more and more interested in what exactly food does to your body and since I was recovering from a major burn out at the time. Although I was diagnosed with CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) at the time, I was very interested in what nutrition could really do good for me. In addition, I like to see people in my environment becoming more and more enthusiastic about healthy food because I hardly talk about anything else.

That is why I started my own blog in March 2015. The recipes I post are my own. Or found elsewhere but put my own spin on it. Usually because I either don't have everything at home or because I personally like it more. In addition, I like variety and my brain never stops when it comes to food! Due to my enormous passion for healthy food, I started the weight consultant training at Sonnevelt Training B.V. in 2016. I obtained my diploma in 2017 and I am still far from finished learning! I started my clientele, Slim Gezond. And following additional courses to further expand my knowledge. I can now also call myself an orthomolecular nutrition advisor and I occasionally guide people with various health problems towards a healthier lifestyle.

My journey started at the age of 13 when I realised that cooking was my passion! Fast forward to a few years later and I embarked on my carrier as a comis-chef in a well-known restaurant in town.

I grew up with a strong influence and continued to work as a cook throughout high school and college. While I continued my education at a culinary institute in Lebanon, I worked as a chef at one of the best catering companies in Lebanon.

Biography

Since I can remember, I’ve had a never quenching thirst for the puzzle that is human performance.
This obsession led me to studying and coaching myself to race the 100m Butterfly at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

Soon after, I transitioned into putting the training and nutrition knowledge I developed for myself to good work by becoming a Strength and Conditioning coach for athletes and the general population.

In my time as a coach, I’ve continued to leave no stone unturned in the quest to be the best coach and athlete I possibly can be which has seen me coach a full roster of world class athletes right through to first timers in the gym.

I love being a human and exploring the potential of our bodies through training and nutrition.
Socrates said that ‘No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.’

I love that my skill set can help people navigate the course to their own, human potential.

Cooking / nutrition:
My nutrition skill-set was born out of necessity when I moved to Malta on my own while training for the 2008 Olympic Games.
I had very little experience cooking and meal prepping and I had a low budget to work with so my style of meal prep revolves around being budget and time friendly while providing nutritionally dense meals.

Born in Morocco, I decided at the age of 18 to go to France to study telecommunications. The little Moroccan that I was was enjoying Paris, a new life, new experiences, beautiful encounters… But I once again wanted to move, to discover another culture, a new country. I wanted to go on an adventure.

Packing your bags, leaving your apartment, leaving your friends, discouraging? Not at all, or at least not for me. Landing in a country where you don't know anyone, where you have to fend for yourself, that didn't scare me.

Here I am for 6 months of adventures. Madrid, my new life. Let me tell you straight away, I fell madly in love with Spain. Because YES, being in Madrid for 6 months, I was not content to simply discover this city, I wanted to take the roads of Spain, discover Spanish life and culture.

During my little journey, I had the chance to meet beautiful people all of different origins. This melting pot, led us to share our cultures but especially our cuisine.

It was from there that I decided to create my culinary blog; to share my love for Moroccan cuisine but also all that I have been able to learn.

Since then, I have returned to Paris. And I still have so much fun in the kitchen.

My recipes are often simple, quick to prepare and inexpensive: ideal for “everyday” cooking.

After the first confinement, I embarked on a crazy adventure: Pastry. I signed up for Le Cordon Bleu Paris to learn all the techniques of French Pastry from the best chefs and I am delighted to have taken the plunge. I can now offer you more sweet recipes on my blog!
