Peel the Lemon?

To peel or not to peel the lemon. That is the question. The answer, on the other hand, depends on which type of juicer we are talking about. If you are using a manual lemon juicer, you don’t need to peel the lemon. You simply cut it in half and put it in the squeezer or manually squeeze it over the reamer, depending on what type of juicer you are using. If you are using a lemon juicer electric option, you also do not need to peel the lemon. Lemon juicer electric options function the same way manual ones do, only they are electrical so they do the work for you. However, if you are using an all-around juicer (cold press or masticating one), we recommend you consider peeling the lemon to avoid the juice tasting bitter. Here’s how to juice a lemon in a juicer:
 • Wash the lemon running it under cold or lukewarm water to prevent any pesticides from getting into your juice
 • Roll the lemon on a hard surface before cutting into it to get the juices inside flowing
 • Take a sharp knife and cut off the ends of the lemon
 • Position the lemon vertically and slowly and carefully start peeling it from top to bottom
 • Next, remove the seeds and cut the lemon into smaller pieces before putting it down the chute. This will prevent the juicer from jamming and help maintain your appliance.

Why Do You Need a Lemon Juicer?

The main reason to get a lemon juicer is that you like lemon juice. Who doesn’t love the taste of freshly made lemonade with ice and a touch of mint? We know we do! However, a lemon juicer can do much more than that. You can use a manual lemon and lime juicer to juice lemons and limes, obviously. But you can also use one to juice oranges, grapefruit, and blood oranges. You can even mix and match your citrus fruits for a one-of-a-kind lemonade the whole neighborhood will be raving about at the next Sunday barbecue. If you want to save time and get more juice from your citrus fruits, you can use an electric lemon juicer. Lemon juicer electric options are available in any home appliance store. Electric lemon juicers are quick and easy to use and a great appliance to keep in your pantry for quick and easy fresh lemonade. Last but not least, an all-around option like a cold press or masticating juicer is a versatile kitchen appliance you can use to make lemonades and much more. Our Optimum 600M cold press juicer is quiet and compact and can squeeze 20% more juice from your fruits and vegetables. You can use it to make lemon, apple, and carrot juice or nutritious lemon, carrot, and ginger juice. On top of this, you can also use the 600M to make soy milk and tofu, milkshakes, frozen food ice cream, and baby food.

Do you need a manual lemon and lime juicer, an electric lemon juicer, or an all-around juicer that can do much more than juice lemons?

How to Use a Lemon Juicer

When talking about how to use a lemon juicer, the answer again depends on which type of juicer you mean. A tabletop lemon juicer is made up of a reamer and a container. To use it, simply twist half a lemon on the reamer and then the other half. A hand-held lemon squeezer is a simple tool made from two parts connected with a hinge. It has holes in the bottom to let the juice out. It works by pressing the lemon tight to release all of its nutritious goodness. Here’s how to use a hand-held lemon juicer:
 • Cut the lemon in half
 • Place one half inside the squeezer, with the round bottom of the fruit facing up (not down as you may think)
 • Close the two sides and firmly squeeze above a glass or another type of container
An electric lemon juicer is even easier to use. Here’s how:
 • Cut the lemon in half
 • Place one half of the lemon on the reamer of the electric lemon juicer and press firmly
 • The reamer will start rotating and the juice will be collected in the container of the electric lemon juicer
If you are wondering how to juice a lemon in a juicer, here’s how:
 • Peel the lemon first (see instructions above)
 • Cut the lemon into smaller pieces
 • Put the lemon pieces in the juicer’s chute
 • Push them down if needed
 • Place a container or glass on the exit end of the juicer
 • Press the juicer’s start button

Lemon Juice Uses

Lemons taste too bitter to be eaten raw. However, their juice is totally fabulous and, in fact, very versatile. And let’s not forget it is also highly nutritious, as it has a high content of vitamin C. Apart from being the base of lemonade, which can be made into a variety of awesomely yummy mixes, lemon juice can also be used for cooking and baking, to add more flavor. Lemon-based sauces, for example, can make fish and poultry dishes more savory. When preparing food, you can also use lemon juice to help vegetables keep their bright color and prevent them from oxidising, tenderising meat, or as a substitute for vinegar in salad dressings.
